Tea and Herbs
Harmony Between Human Beings and Nature
Chinese teas and medicinal herbs form a living link between human beings and the natural world. In 1995, TCM catalogued 11,146 herbs suitable for treating health‑related complaints. Of these, 120 have been known for their effectiveness since as early as 500 BC. They compensate for energetic deficiencies and supply the organs with essential nutrients. Ultimately, all Chinese medicinal plants pursue the same goal: they come from nature and help reconnect human beings with it.
In China, tea and herbs are regarded as natural products that not only enrich life but can also prolong it. Accordingly, there is extensive knowledge about the ideal interplay of soil, climate, harvest time, processing, and preparation (especially with regard to water quality). Chinese teas and herbs offer a wide range of sensory pleasures as well as therapeutic benefits.
