Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Improving the Flow of Energy
Traditional Chinese Medicine is founded on the dynamic interplay of Yin and Yang and on the doctrine of the Five Elements (the balance of Wood, Earth, Fire, Metal and Water). With these principles, TCM succeeded very early on in systematically understanding the relationships within the body as well as the interaction between the body, emotions and the environment, and in developing effective healing methods.
TCM treatments dissolve blockages in the energy channels and allow energy to circulate freely throughout the body. After a thorough diagnosis (for example, by examining the tongue and pulse), an individual treatment plan is created. This typically includes the administration of natural teas and herbs, as well as acupuncture or cupping. Depending on the symptoms, additional treatment methods may be indicated.
“Qigong established itself at the beginning of the 20th century as an independent therapeutic method within TCM.”
“Tai Chi Chuan is a traditional Chinese martial art.”
